My Big Vine

Navy Island Grape Vine - One Big One!

Do you know where Navy Island is? I have been here several times with the late Gene Muma. I labelled Gene, “Mr. Navy Island.” Rightfully so. Gene lead us to the giant grape vine on the south end of this uninhabited island. Think big. Teale’s grapevine was 15 inches in circumference. Gene Muma measured his at a little over twenty-four inches! Have you heard of any one larger? I have a map and a photo of me holding the vine a few years ago.
